My favorite hotel experience was during our honeymoon in July 2016, when we visited the unique Kaya Mawa Paradise, a luxury boutique hotel located on Likoma Island in the middle of Lake Malawi.
This hotel has been voted one of the top ten ‘Most Beautiful Places in the World’ by Conde Nast and it’s not hard to see why.
Kaya Mawa means ‘maybe tomorrow’, from the moment you arrive at the island’s small airport, you will be ready, with all the time in the world to enjoy this special and friendly place.
Upon arrival, we were given an upgrade to a luxury chalet to host our honeymoon, with a private pool and deck overlooking the lake.

We celebrated our birthday at Ajit Bhawan. We commemorated our anniversary by decorating the suite with roses and balloons. They also made delicious cakes. We went to an offshore island in the Bahamas for a special birthday party, just the two of us.
The perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of single parent living requires work. We left our four children, four pets and two homes for eight days in November.
At Cat Island, we found soft-serve ice cream, Caribbean juices, and delicious fruit drinks. Fernandez Bay Village Resort was the paradise we were looking for.
