Fun Family Activities In Dc – The National Gallery of Art has several programs this Friday and Saturday to put on your family entertainment radar!
If you have little ones with you on Friday morning, take them to a Storytime session. It will be held in the East Build atrium starting at 10 am. The featured children’s book will be read in both English and Spanish, and will be more than just reading – get ready to move and play too! All ages are welcome, especially the youngest visitors and nursing mothers.

And on Saturday, November 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., get your creative juices flowing as you create art at the museum. Starting this weekend, the East Building atrium will be transformed into a place to create art on the first Saturday of every month! Activities will be inspired by the collection of the National Gallery of Art and intended for all ages and abilities.

Located near the National Park and in the center of the bustling Capitol Riverfront District, The Yards Park sits along the Anacostia River in a great way. Its bridge is an architectural marvel, while its modernized “outdoor spaces” make the park the perfect place to play. Both the Mount Vernon Trail and the Capital Crescent Trail are ideal for a leisurely hike or eye-popping bike ride. The Capital Crescent Trail begins in Georgetown and winds all the way to Silver Spring, Md., skirting the Potomac the entire time.
