Fun Family Games To Play Indoors – Since we live in an apartment and I can’t take the kids outside at a moment’s notice, my kids and I have become experts at finding and playing fun indoor games for the kids. I have a great list of indoor activities for kids, but it’s a broad list that can get overwhelming quickly. These fun indoor games for kids will get you through the cold winter (or hot summer), no problem!
Family Games — Victoria Prooday
A magnetic alphabet game. Kids will love creating their own levels to play, just like a real video game.
Airplane strips on paper. How many flights can you land in the right place. Plus, practice your engineering skills while building elaborate stands.
Lay down painter’s tape on the floor and blow a pom pom or ping pong ball along the line of tape using a straw!
Indoor croquet. You can make your own set with cardboard cubes and ping pong balls. We loved making and playing with the variety we found in the Kiwi Crate.
Camping Games For Families & Kids
Lava. Did you play this as a kid? Place the pillows on the floor and instruct the children that if they fall under the pillow they will fall into the hot lava!!!
Large dot to dot is a great way to work both motor and gross motor skills at the same time. You can also add to the calculation method.
Small dot to dot. I developed this one day when my little one was jealous of his older brother’s extra dot on the dot.

Not going outside can drive children crazy. Clinging inside, they dream of a warm time when they can run and play with endless energy outside. Then they walk into your Sunday school class, a week later school and home bound, God given, carrying a wiggly case of fidgets and squirms. So tap into kids’ natural energy and excitement with these indoor Sunday school games designed specifically to get kids moving while teaching them more about their faith.
Play: Put the children into groups of 10, and give them a few minutes to build towers with their blocks. Then give each group four or five ping-pong balls. Each person should write one thing on each ball that makes them angry.
Say: Let’s play a game. Your team’s goal is to knock down the other team’s towers. Use slingshots and ping-pong balls to do this, but stand at least 15 feet away from any tower you’re targeting.

Show the children this distance. Then say: Think about the things you wrote on your ping-pong balls. What things did this anger “drop” in your life or in the lives of others?
Say: We will work as a team in this game. Our elephant will chase everyone and try to tag you with noodles. If you are tagged, you become part of the Elephant by holding hands with the person who just tagged you with a noodle. The person who bought you will give you a piece of noodle, and you will work with the remaining Elephant to tag others, giving the piece of noodle to the person you tagged. The goal is to be the last person marked.
Play: Divide the children into groups of five to eight, and put a dab of petroleum jelly on the end of each person’s nose. For each group, set a plate of cotton balls on one side of the table, and set a second empty plate on the other side of the table for each group. Then use masking tape to select the first line. Make each group line up behind it.
Say: Let’s use this game to practice and encourage others. This is a retrieval race, and the goal of your team is to get all the cotton balls on your plate to your team’s empty plate on the other side of the table. Only one person can go at a time, and you only have to use your nose to pick up the cotton balls. Got it? Seek understanding.

Say: This is going to be tough, so cheer for your teammates as much as you can. Shout words of encouragement, clap, and sing along to your teammates.
Say: Pretend that each of these balloons represents one of the Ten Commandments. Let’s play a game of trying to keep all 10 balloons in the air at the same time.
Have the children each hold one end of the towel and stand apart so the towel is taut. Then ask the children to take off the towel. Encourage them to keep moving it as you add each balloon—each time calling out one of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17). Continue for 30 seconds after you have added all the balloons, and replace any balloons that fall.

Top 14 Best Indoor Games That You Can Play With Your Kids
Play: Before the kids arrive, tape the candy bars to the wall high enough so the kids can’t reach them without standing on the chairs.
Tell the children that the object of the game is to reach the candy bars without the help of furniture or other people.
Let the children try to catch the candies. When they have given up, ask them to form groups of three and work together to reach the candy bar. Two children can do a step by locking their hands together and lifting the third person high enough to reach the candy bar for all three.
Play: Ask for two volunteers—one to be the Tempter and the other to be the Testee—from a group of no more than eight children. The goal of the game is to protect the Tempests, who will stand in the center of the team’s tight circle. The Tester tries to mark the child in the center by reaching into the circle. Play: Make two teams. Divide your classroom into two equal areas with a line of masking tape. Give each group an equal amount of newspaper. On your signal, have the children make newspaper “snowballs” and throw them rapidly back and forth at the opposing team for two minutes. The goal is to get more “snowballs” on the opponent’s side when time runs out.
At the end of the game, ask the children to collect the newspaper and put it in the bin at your church. Have children clean their hands with disposable wipes.
Play: Ask the children to sit in a tight circle and remove their shoes. Choose two children to be “It.” They will sit on their knees in the center of the circle. The other children forming a circle should always sit with their feet in the center of the circle. The object of the game is for the It kids to take off the socks of the circle kids before those kids take off the It socks.
Play: Have one child lie on his back. Then have the other child lie with his head on the other child’s stomach. Have the remaining children lie with their heads on the other child’s stomach.
