Covid 19 Omicron: Gujarat Travel Guidelines For International And Domestic Passengers

Both domestic and international passengers arriving at any of the airports in Gujarat, will be thermally screened. All passengers traveling into the state are required to carry a negative RT-PCR test report. Children under the age of 12 will be exempted.

All passengers traveling to Surat in Gujarat to fill in the ‘Novel corona self-report form’ and download the ‘SMC COVID-19 Tracker’ app (Android or iOS).

Citizens of Surat with recent travel history abroad/countries affected by COVID-19 are required to download this app and submit their GPS location every hour (9 AM to 9 PM), while they are in quarantine.

With the restart of commercial domestic aviation services in the country, anyone from an Indian state can enter Gujarat. There are no restrictions on the movement of persons, vehicles, and private goods between and within countries, including those that pass through land borders.

Passengers who do not come with negative RT-PCR certificates will be held until the time the test results are released which will take about 6-7 hours. Passengers will need to pay 800 rupees for the COVID test which is taken at the airports. Please note that the on-arrival testing facility is not available at Rajkot and Vadodara airports.

In the wake of the rise in Covid-19 cases, a seven-day home quarantine has become mandatory for all domestic travelers to the city of Surat.

It is necessary to carry a negative RT-PCR report no later than 72 hours before entering Gujarat. According to the Immigration Office, all international travelers traveling to Gujarat must compulsorily fill an online self-declaration form at least 72 hours before their departure for India.

Earlier, one had to carry a COVID-19 test prescription from a qualified doctor to take the test. However, the government has now relaxed the criteria for testing for COVID-19 by issuing an order allowing citizens to simply enter registered private laboratories or private hospitals and get tested for COVID-19 at their own expense.

Maharashtra Travel Guidelines For 2022

The Gujarat government has given permission to private laboratories to conduct rapid antibody tests for the detection of coronavirus infection. Laboratories have been required to use ICMR-approved ELISA or CLIA rapid antibody test kits, and must state in the report which kit was used.

Apart from the list of priority persons above, you should get tested for COVID-19 if you have one or more of the following clinical symptoms for a prolonged period: fever, difficulty breathing, cough, sore throat, runny nose, loss of taste or smell and body aches. It may take between 3 hours and 2 days for test results to arrive. Until then, you should self-isolate to prevent the infection from spreading.

The RT-PCR test will cost 700 euros for samples given in laboratories or a collection center and 900 euros for samples collected from home, hospital or isolation centres.

The government has mandated that an ELISA antibody test will cost 450 rupees if it is conducted in a laboratory and 550 rupees if samples are collected from home or from a hospital. Similarly, the upper limit for in-vitro CLIA antibody test is 500 rupees and for home/hospital at 600 rupees.
