Belmond Hotel Caruso is located in the building of a former medieval palace that practically hangs between the sea and the sky. Located in the highest and quietest part of Ravello, this luxury hotel overlooks the rocks and cliffs of Italy’s Amalfi Coast and the Mediterranean (or rather Tyrrhenian) Sea. Frescoed lounges, arched stone vaults and just 50 highly individual rooms and suites that take on every shape and nook of the ancient palace architecture, this is an intimate retreat with an intriguing sense of history. Six Senses Zighy Bay is an ultra-luxurious ‘hidden gem’ located on Oman’s northern Musandam Peninsula, just a two-hour scenic drive from Dubai. The setting of this beautiful indigenous country-style resort with a private marina is spectacular, with beautiful mountains on one side and 1.6 km (1 mile) of sandy beach on the other. Perhaps the most famous image associated with Montenegro is the fortified island of Sv. Stjepan, which dates back to the 15th century when Adriatic pirates ruled this crystal clear coast. Connected to the mainland by a narrow isthmus, the restored village lies across the bay from Villa Miločer, a former royal retreat, and offers unparalleled access to Boka Kotorska, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Together with 80 hectares of land, two kilometers (1.3 miles) of beaches and a separate Amman resort, these two historic sites make up Amman St. Stephen. While the island’s historic exterior remains largely unchanged, the resort’s interiors have been renovated and updated to meet contemporary expectations. Expect to find 58 unique luxury accommodations, all with luxurious bathrooms and a variety of views, from the sea and rooftops to quaint courtyards and squares.
