This is quite a difficult question to answer as I prefer to rank hotels in different categories based on the experience they offer, be it a city break, romantic getaway, desert or beach. However, there are a few luxury hotels that left such a strong impression on me that I rank them among my most memorable travel experiences. So here is my list of the 10 most beautiful and amazing luxury hotels in the world (and I highly recommend putting them on your list as well).

Frescoed lounges, arched stone vaults and just 50 highly individual rooms and suites that take on every shape and nook of the ancient palace architecture, this is an intimate retreat with an intriguing sense of history. The most exclusive hotel in the Maldives and my favorite hotel in the world is surrounded by pristine beaches, covered in lush tropical greenery and surrounded by a 5.6 km (3.4 mi) lagoon of crystal clear water with uninterrupted 360° views. Indian Ocean. Soneva Jani currently has 24 water villas and one beach villa, although additional beach villas are planned for later. Each of the 24 water villas is beautifully designed and has a private pool and overlooks its own lagoon, and some villas have water slides that go directly from the upper deck to the lagoon below. The highlight of the villas is the retractable roof in the master bedroom, which slides back at the touch of a button so guests can lie in bed and gaze at the stars.
