The East Coast in particular offers something for everyone – head outside to warm up in a warm New England B&B on the North Atlantic coast as the wind bites, or head south for more temperate, tropical weather. Start your winter vacation planning by checking out the inns at the following romantic East Coast destinations.
This inn is known to pair the best wines from the famous Napa region. You can take hands-on cooking classes with the region’s best chefs in the inn’s new Old English-style kitchen. The seasonal menu changes daily and is adapted to each guest’s special dietary restrictions. The inn was named a 2012 Top 10 award winner, in part because guests couldn’t stop raving about their food. Indulge in a three-course gourmet breakfast, which comes with full service and is cooked to order. Breakfast starts with a warm towel scented with lavender. Most of the ingredients here are sourced in season from local farmers, and some even come from the inn’s own garden. Choose from a variety of appetizers, entrees, and sides. You might even forget you’re having breakfast instead of dinner! If you give advance notice, they can cook delicious meals suitable for vegetarians, vegans, Atkins, or gluten-free eaters. The elegant dining room is a great place to get to know other guests, but if you want privacy, you can have it delivered to your room. Add optional English tea for a fraction of the price to enjoy English tea sandwiches, scones, and crumpets, and even authentic clotted cream.
The inn has its own restaurant where you can add an optional gourmet meal. While staying at the Mission Oak Inn, you can add on a cooking package that allows you to receive personal instruction from their Chef Denny on how to cook your favorite Mission Oak Inn dinners, breakfasts and desserts. You choose the menu and help prepare it. In addition to a complimentary deluxe breakfast each morning, guests also receive a complimentary homemade dessert in the evening. Pictured is their famous stuffed French toast with eggs, sausage gravy, hash browns and cheese.
