Hotel Deals In Singapore – COVID-19 has hit really hard and my boyfriend and I have had to cancel many, many plans over the past 1 week. It was quite confusing as we were really looking forward to these trips and many were already paid for.
To make up for the missed trip and canceled plans, my boyfriend decided to make a spontaneous reservation for both of us. We had been eyeing a particular Resorts World Sentosa hotel for some time and immediately recognized the possibility of booking it. Originally priced at $1000/night, we were able to book a deluxe sea view room for $700 for 2 nights! (Be sure to update about the stay in the next few weeks!)
Hotel Deals In Singapore
After doing so much research and finding ways to get better deals on luxury hotel rooms, I’ve come up with 8 hacks that will save you a lot of money if you’re planning to book a vacation and want to get the cheapest. The price is possible!
Hotel Grand Pacific (sg Clean Certified), Singapore
My boyfriend was surfing YouTube when he came across this YouTuber talking about Hotwire, a booking website that sells unsold travel inventory at discounted prices. There are two main “deals” that Hotwire offers – their “opaque inventory” which is unsold flights, hotels and car rentals at discounted prices, and their “hot prices” where they offer you some luxury hotels but you can’t. Know which hotels are real before payment is made.
However there is a blog that claims it is possible to find out the identity of these hotels before booking! Check out this review here.
This is similar to the first hack, but instead of not being able to choose a hotel, this time you can’t choose the room you stay in. This is a great option if you already have a favorite hotel but don’t really care which room you get.
“Reserved room on arrival” options are available on many booking sites, but I mainly use Agoda. You can do a quick Google search to find out which hotels have this option.
St Signature Bugis Beach, Short Overnight, 8 Hours, 11pm 7am, Singapore
It really depends on your luck, you might pay $156/night for a standard room or a fabulous suite with a private jacuzzi and balcony, but even if you don’t hit the jackpot, you’re still guaranteed a pretty decent room.
Instead of looking at hotel prices one by one on individual booking websites, just type in the name of the hotel you want to stay in or “hotels Singapore” and Google will show you hotel availability and the lowest price offered on each relevant booking website. .
Here you can find the lowest prices of Orchard Rendezvous Hotel on various booking websites like Agoda, Booking.com, TripAdvisor, Trivago and many more.
You can also click on the “Reviews” tab and look at hotel reviews from various booking websites.
In Southeast Asia, Luxury Hotel Bargains Aren’t Hard To Find
You know how Grab prices always go up crazy when multiple people book from the same place? It’s the same when you’re looking for hotel prices.
Like Grab, hotels offer different prices depending on where you are. A VPN (Virtual Private Network) can help you change your location by hiding your IP address. For more information on VPNs and how they work, check out this link!
Here is a comparison between my searches from Singapore and France (using a VPN) for rooms at Marina Bay Sands. In this case, the prices found in Singapore are cheaper. Sometimes, countries want to serve their local population first, so it may cost more if you’re looking from abroad.
Sometimes, prices are lower if you search from low-income countries. However, I don’t have a premium VPN subscription, so I’m limited to VPN networks from the US and France. However, it still proves that hotel prices vary by location!
Check Inn @little India, Singapore
According to research by booking site Kayak, hotel prices peak Monday through Wednesday and drop on the weekend. Rooms are also cheaper on Fridays and Saturdays. However, Sunday nights are usually cheaper than Fridays, so it’s better to book Saturday night-Monday instead of Friday night-Sunday.
This doesn’t apply to all hotels, but some offer great discounts for last-minute check-ins. In the image below, you can see that a typical night at The Fullerton Hotel costs $460. But if I book a room tonight, it’s only $230!
I remember thinking I got a super good deal when I booked a room through Agoda, only to find out that there was a much cheaper offer on FavePay! Apps like FavePay and ShopBack aren’t travel or hotel websites, but they help you save a lot.
FavePay has occasional travel and hotel deals, though the selection is limited. Many of these deals also include transportation fees (eg ferry tickets) if you’re traveling to places like Bintan or Batam. ShopBack offers are less straightforward and come in the form of cashback. Still, it’s better than nothing!
Hotels In Central Area, Singapore
Some credit cards also offer special discounts at hotels! For example, The Citi Prestige Card offers a free fourth night when you book a hotel for 3 days through Citi Concierge. HSBC also offers amazing discounts at hotels such as The Fullerton Hotel, Sofitel Singapore and Swissotel.
Instead of staying in the same expensive hotel for 5 days, why not take the chance to stay in 5 different hotels that are cheaper or more unique? If you’re adventurous enough, here are some cool hotels to check out for total prices of up to 1 night in a luxury hotel!
With some practice and research, saving money when booking a hotel room in Singapore is very easy. With these hacks, I’m sure I’ll still have an eventful weekend with Bey without going overseas!
