Granville Island is an unmissable destination in Vancouver with art galleries, restaurants, cafes and exhibitions on the bustling island in the center of the city.
This is Canada’s winter destination, but Whistler is also one of the best places to visit in British Columbia in the summer. Head to Whistler Village for some coastal mountain wilderness. Located between Vancouver and Whistler, Squamish is often overlooked as a quick stop on the ocean road trip to Heaven, but it’s a town worth a few days worth visiting. It’s a rock climbing mecca with professionals flocking to tackle Squamish Chief (Stawamus Chief Mountain).

A trip down this rugged and remote part of BC’s coast is one of Canada’s best-kept secrets. The Sunshine Coast is located north of Vancouver along the Straight of Georgia. Located in mainland BC, one would think it would be an easy trip, but the only way to access the Sunshine Coast is by ferry, plane or plane. A boat ride from Horseshoe Bay takes you to one of BC’s most beautiful beaches.
As you drive north you will come to Gibsons Landing, the filming location of the legendary Canadian TV Show Beachcombers before starting your journey to Lund where you can travel to the Deserted Sound. The Sunshine Coast is also known for some of the best mountain biking in British Columbia.

One of our favorite cities to visit in the Okanagan Valley is Kelowna. The city not only has a great wine scene but also has a great food scene, distilleries and outdoor activities galore. One of the best things to do in Kelowna is hike or ride the Kettle Valley Railroad in Myra Canyon.
The Kettle Valley Railway’s trestle bridge in Myra Canyon offers one of the most spectacular views in British Columbia, let alone the Okanagan Valley. The Kettle Valley Trail itself runs from Hope to Castlegar and is 650 kilometers long, but the most scenic is outside of Kelowna at Myra-Bellevue Regional Park.

Another important city in the Okanagan Valley, Penticton should also be added to your list of places to visit in British Columbia. Surrounded by mountains and nestled between Lake Okanagan and Lake Skaha, Penticton is a nature lover’s dream.
