Traveling to South Korea just got easier. The country, a popular tourist destination for tourists around the world known for its food, culture and tradition (and especially in India, thanks to Hallyu or the Korean wave), is set to remove the test order COVID-19 leave for guests on the first day of their arrival, starting Saturday, October 1. News confirmed by Yonhap News Agency on September 30.

What Are The Requirements To Teach Abroad In South Korea?

Until now, incoming travelers do not require a departure test, but they still have to undergo a COVID-19 PCR test within 24 hours of their arrival in the country. The new announcement means that all border control laws and regulations related to the pandemic have been lifted for visitors arriving in South Korea.

Korea lifted the pre-departure testing mandate in early September and removed mandatory quarantine for unvaccinated travelers in June this year. The country is also seeing a drop in the number of COVID-19 cases, which led to this decision.

According to recent reports, South Korea registered 28, 497 new COVID cases on Wednesday night before the announcement on September 30.

“The weekly number of infections has declined for the first time in nine weeks and the virus is showing signs of slowing down,” Lee Ki-il, the country’s second vice minister of health, told reporters.

South Korea also lifted the outdoor mask order in September, and those who test positive for the virus are required to self-isolate for seven days. The holiday in tourism is expected to bring an influx of tourists into the country, boost tourism and allow them to experience Korea’s scenic beauty, culture, food, festivals, and much more.

It is best to be prepared to prevent and treat common illnesses and injuries. Some supplies and medicines may be difficult to find where you use them, may have different names, or may contain different ingredients than what you normally use.

If you do not feel well after your trip, you may need to consult a doctor. If you need help finding a travel medicine specialist, see Find a Clinic. Be sure to tell your doctor about your trip, including where you are going and what you are doing on your trip. Also tell your doctor if an animal bites or scratches you while traveling.

If your doctor prescribes malaria medication for your trip, take the rest of your medication after you return home. If you stop taking your medicine too soon, you may still get sick.

Malaria is often a serious disease and can be fatal. If you get sick with malaria either while traveling in a malaria-endangered area or after returning home (for one year), you should seek medical attention immediately and tell your doctor about your travel history.
